About Me
I studied textile design at Cumbria College of Art and Design. Since then I have developed my own original style of freehand machine embroidery, using layers of hand dyed organzas and painted cottons, and have achieved great acclaim within the textiles world. Often described as whimsical, my style of work combines illustrative and jewel-like qualities to produce decorative interior pieces inspired by themes of marine life, flora & fauna and decorative kitsch. Alongside my own work, I have worked on commissions of larger pieces which have included an arts project for the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital Childrens ward. I have designed for other greetings card companies and contributed to several contemporary craft books. My work in the UK sells through galleries, gift and craft shops. I also attend exhibitions throughout the year, including the Country Living Fair, and trade fairs in New York and San Francisco. My work is exported worldwide from my studio in Norwich.
